Lucia does not collect any personal data. All information you enter — transactions, savings goals, spending categories, and preferences — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and, starting with version 1.1, synced through your own private iCloud account so it is available on your other devices.
We have no servers, no user accounts, and no way to access your data. Your iCloud data belongs to you and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The data belongs entirely to you.
Starting with version 1.1, Lucia syncs your data through your own private iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit. Earlier versions keep everything on the device only. Your transactions, budgets and savings goals are stored in the private database of your personal iCloud, which only you can reach — it is not a Lucia account, and there is no Lucia server involved at any point. We cannot see, read or retrieve any of it.
This is what lets your history survive deleting the app, switching to a new iPhone, or restoring from a backup, and what makes the same data appear on your iPad. Your iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you are not signed in to iCloud, or you turn iCloud off for Lucia in your iOS settings, the app keeps working exactly as before and everything simply stays on your device.
A small number of preferences — your currency, appearance, and the categories Lucia has learned for your regular purchases — are carried between your devices the same way, through iCloud.
Lucia offers a one-time lifetime purchase. All transactions are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment information.
StoreKit records a receipt on your device to verify your purchase. This receipt is processed locally and through Apple's servers only.
We do not use any analytics tools, crash reporters, advertising networks, or tracking frameworks. No data about your usage of the app is ever collected or transmitted anywhere.
Lucia does not integrate any third-party SDKs or services that collect user data. The only external services the app communicates with are Apple's own: the App Store for purchase verification, and iCloud for the sync described above. Both are Apple services operating on your own account, and neither sends us anything.
Lucia does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, never on servers of ours, so no personal information is transmitted to us.
If we ever change this privacy policy in a material way, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and — where appropriate — notify users through the App Store release notes.
