Frequently Asked Questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and — starting with version 1.1 — in your own private iCloud account, so it is there on your other devices too. It never reaches us: Lucia has no servers, no accounts, and no way to read what you enter.

Will my data come back if I reinstall the app or change phone?

From version 1.1, yes — as long as you are signed in to iCloud. Your history syncs to your own private iCloud, so reinstalling Lucia or setting up a new iPhone brings it back by itself; give it a minute after the first launch. Versions before 1.1 kept everything on the device alone, so deleting the app took the data with it.

How do I restore my lifetime purchase?

Open the unlock screen and tap "Restore purchase." It appears on its own if your trial has ended; otherwise open Settings and tap the trial row at the top of the list. Your App Store account is used to verify the purchase — make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

I was charged but the purchase isn't unlocked.

Try "Restore purchase" first, on the unlock screen. If that doesn't work, please contact us with your Apple Account email and the approximate date of purchase and we'll help resolve it.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select the purchase to request a refund.

Can I use Lucia on multiple devices?

Yes. The lifetime purchase is tied to your Apple Account and works on any device signed into it. From version 1.1, your transactions, budgets and savings goals sync between your devices through your own private iCloud, so the same figures appear on your iPhone and your iPad.

How do I delete my data?

Inside the app you can delete individual transactions, savings goals and spending limits, or tap ••• and choose Delete all to clear every transaction in a profile (your savings, goals and budgets are kept). From version 1.1, deleting the app is no longer enough on its own, because a copy lives in your iCloud — you can remove that from Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
